Re: If you like someone’s blog, you should probably tell them
i've been keeping in touch with a lovely bearblogger who has very graciously mentioned my blog in their recent post! i feel so lucky that our paths crossed. this person said it best, don't hesitate to reach out to people and tell them you like their work.
i've quite enjoyed reading through their blog as well. their writing is like a winding path up a mountain that drops you off at a beautiful lookout. you never quite know where you'll end up, but you know it'll be beautiful there. the optimist in me needs to tell everyone about the beauty in this world. it's nice to meet somebody who has a similar perspective.
we've also emailed back and forth about the strangeness of ideas reaching different people at the same time. the gist of their last post, reading improves writing, is a thought i had written down in my notebook just a few days ago! we're all connected in one way or another, whether through mutual connections, media, community or the experiences we share. many of us have a rich inner life, thoughts, reactions and feelings that are confined to our own heads, and we might feel like we're the only ones thinking or going through something. reading this blog and others have made me feel much less alone.
