bearblog has chosen me

a couple of hours ago i hit #1 trending on the bearblog discovery page for my post, the freedom of writing anonymously. i hope you understand that this is my equivalent of winning an oscar, and here is my acceptance speech. thank you all for reading! thank you for turning your mind towards my writing. in that same post i mentioned that it was so much easier for me to write anonymously, but now that a post has actually been seen by quite a few people, it's harder to write because i feel some pressure to improve the quality of my writing so that my future posts can also be received well. (is this how Adele felt?)

i've also been surprised by how many different countries bearblog readers are from. i get to see all of them on the analytics page. although most of y'all are from the US, UK or Canada, we also have representation from: Australia, Germany, Brazil, Switzerland, Netherlands, India, Indonesia, Philippines, France, China, Sweden, Singapore, Italy, Belgium, Argentina, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Poland, Romania, Bahrain, South Africa, Malaysia, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Latvia, Uganda, Ireland, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Greece and Vietnam. wow!!!

anyhow, i hope it's clear that this post title is meant to be cheeky and over-the-top. i'll just keep writing for myself mostly, don't want to be breaking down the fourth wall so often (home repairs are costly these days). i do want to start writing reply posts to other bearblog writers though. there are a handful who inspired me to write more candidly online, and i'm immensely grateful for their presence and want to get to know them better. y'all are such a cool bunch of people. this feels like home.
